NY Marathon is this weekend. You watching?

Max King, Erik Skaggs, and Jenn Shelton will all be racing Lithia on Saturday. Yeah, I'm getting chicked.
Did you know Ryan Hall lives in Redding, California now? I'll be driving thru on my way to Ashland...maybe I'll pick him up and see what he can do on the trails.

Boston stud Geoffrey Mutai wins the 10k in Castelbuono with a 29:05.
We're waiting for the weather to cooperate so Diana Nyad can make her epic endurance swim from Cuba to Florida. Check out the numbers, then remember she's 61.
Meanwhile, Lisa Bliss is underway in her 145 mile solo, unsupported Badwater crossing. She's pulling/pushing a 240 pound cart full of water. Two hundred and forty damn pounds to the top of Mt. Whitney. Watch her SPOT beacon here.

Prepaid IV fluids at the Leadville finish? Huh? Read Thornley's take on it here and AJW's and Rod Bien's in the comments.

Ed Whitlock breaks world record for 10k with a per mile pace faster than than the world record for the mile in his AG. What's that? He's 80 years old? Check it out
We're waiting to hear more from Ellie Greenwood, female winner of WS100. Down 15 minutes with 10 miles to go, she won the race by 20 minutes. She also had a bear encounter during the last few miles. Ellie's slated to come on the show soon so you can hear it straight from her. Stay tuned.

We had a casual talk with Frank Bozanich this weekend about what ultras were like during his heyday in the late 1970s. Limited aid stations, no drop bags, and all he carried was a honey bear full of coke. How'd he do without all of todays gadgets? How about 8 sub 5:30 50 milers with a PR of 5:05. We'll have Frank in studio soon to dish on todays ultra scene.

Today is stage 10 of the insane LA-NY cross country footrace. The runners "only" covered 46 miles today, with approximately 60 days left to go. And you thought a cute little hundo was a long run?
