Nick Clark blames his DNF on poor UTMB race management.  A text? Really?

Running back and forth over a bridge for 12 hours. Ugh.

World Track and Field results. Usain Bolt, frozen toes, and a Kenyan sweep.

Non-alcoholic beer aids in marathon recovery. I'll just assume only alcoholic beer helps for ultras, as that's probably what got us to sign up in the first place.

Killian doesn't drop out and takes 1st at UTMB, and 3rd place was only 12 minutes back. Whatta race!

I can't wait for this movie to come out.  (Third story down.)

Mike Wolfe has a target on Killian this weekend.

I'm heading out today for a month long running/eating/brewery journey around the country.  Newsfeed might be slow and light. Please forgive me.

Guy is trying to break the PCT record in support of Parkinson's.

The Sierra Nevada 50 miler is at the end of September in Auburn. Turnaround is on the famous No Hands Bridge.  If you're running it, this video was taken on Monday.

Is Mr. Mackey back in the running for UROY?  At least Gary R thinks so.

The LA->NY Footrace is still going on, and there are 8 runners left.

Matt Carpenter has won Pike's Peak every year he's entered it since 1988.  Did he do it again? Of course.

Team URP runner Jesse Barragan on Sacramento Running News. Jesse was in a strong 2nd place, fell at mile 29, and hobbled in for a third place. Nicely done.

Transrockies is taking place right now. Max King's team is in 2nd, followed closely by Timmy Olsen's. Whew! And hey, Gordy's even there!  We'll be talking with Max from stage camp during the race.

Whew! Quite a weekend of running! Leadville goes to another Salomon athlete, and Dave Mackey breaks the Waldo 100k record. Yeah, he's also coming on our show soon, so get ready!

Where's Waldo 100k is tomorrow.  


The aeronautical pentathlon: Basketball dribbling, swimming an obstacle course, pistol shooting, a regular obstacle course, and an orienteering course. Wait, that's only 5 events for a "pentathlon." Ah, just read it.


Midweek all-comer cross country runs are what summer is all about.  Great way to get speed work in and fine-tune your racing.

Women take 2 of the top 4 spots at Ultra(wo)man Canada.

The Lakeland 100 miler in the UK shatters has records smashed last weekend.  Looks like a gorgeous course.

New test suggests that dark chocolate helps leg strength and endurance.  I'm sure tomorrow's study will show the opposite...

Have endurance events--and triathlon in particular--become the new "golf?"

mapmyfitness can now "spot" runners at certain marathons.  Pretty cool if they could do that for longer stuff.

Michael Wardian is a freaking machine.  Wins the SF Marathon by six minutes after spending all night puking with food poisoning. Listen to our interview again to learn from this freak of nature.

And holy crap! Jenn Pharr Davis breaks the overall record for Appalachian Trail crossing. 2,181 miles in just over 46 days.

This 220k race in New Delhi India reaches altitudes of 18,000 feet and has some serious rough terrain.  Cath Todd is running it. Listen to our interview with her here.
