Jean Pommier ran an awesome 5:43 at Last Chance 50 on Saturday with Victor "the closer" Ballesteros hot on his heels ten minutes back.
Hal Koerner turned in a blistering 13:47 at Javelina Jundred. Liza Howard broke the female record with a fast 15:47 at JJ100. Wow! Dirt Diva Catra Corbett finishes in 26:20 in a Lady Luck costume. Would you expect anything less???
URP friend Eric Johnson going to Tough Mudder championships in NJ in a month. Check out his training regimen and fundraising efforts here. Best of luck!

We're waiting to hear more from Ellie Greenwood, female winner of WS100. Down 15 minutes with 10 miles to go, she won the race by 20 minutes. She also had a bear encounter during the last few miles. Ellie's slated to come on the show soon so you can hear it straight from her. Stay tuned.
Geoff Roes talks about his race and ultimate DNF.
CNN addresses "10 Exercise Myths That Won't Go Away." Not sure any hard and fast rules apply to our sport.
We had a casual talk with Frank Bozanich this weekend about what ultras were like during his heyday in the late 1970s. Limited aid stations, no drop bags, and all he carried was a honey bear full of coke. How'd he do without all of todays gadgets? How about 8 sub 5:30 50 milers with a PR of 5:05. We'll have Frank in studio soon to dish on todays ultra scene.
Here's some additional WS coverage here and here. And here, too.

Today is stage 10 of the insane LA-NY cross country footrace. The runners "only" covered 46 miles today, with approximately 60 days left to go. And you thought a cute little hundo was a long run?
